Work is carried out on environmental radioactivity in general, covering both terrestrial and marine systems.

The group is involved in the Arctic Monitoring and Assessment Programme (AMAP) with focus on the radioactive contamination of the Greenland terrestrial and marine environment, with a special emphasis on the plutonium contamination at Thule in NW Greenland.
