The job
The Hevesy Laboratory is a radiopharmaceutical and radioecological facility at DTU Nutech located on the DTU Risø Campus in Roskilde. The laboratory has two cyclotrons for preparation of biomedical radioisotopes, including F-18 for PET scanning. The facility contains laboratories and clean rooms for radiochemical research including analyses of radioactivity in environmental samples and foodand for radiopharmaceutical production.
The research in the Hevesy Laboratory of new radioactive drugs for diagnostics and therapy is carried out in close cooperation with university hospitals, research groups at DTU and other universities, as well as the related industry. The Hevesy Laboratory is GMP certified for drug production and produces radioactive drugs for Danish hospitals on a daily basis.
The Hevesy Laboratory plans on being a part of the growing market for radiochemical analyses related to safe decommissioning of nuclear power plants.

Primary areas of responsibility
  • Overall management responsibility for 42 dedicated colleagues involved in research and development as well as production
  • Overall responsibility for the strategic planning and daily operation, including resource allocation and cooperation with external partners
  • Obtaining external funding for the diverse activities of the laboratory
  • Development of the Hevesy Laboratory’s scientific profile
  • Contribute to DTU’s education on bachelor, master, and PhD levels
  • The economy of the division, including compilation of applications and project proposals
  • Participation in the management of DTU Nutech in close cooperation with the Director and the other head of divisions
Our expectations of you
  • Good people management skills
  • Experience in strategic management as well as resource management
  • You have a scientific background as senior researcher and/or associated professor
  • Knowledge within the field of radioactivity and ionizing radiation
  • Experience in obtaining external funding
  • Preferable you have a knowledge within accreditation, certification, and quality control
  • You are able to make difficult decision when it is necessary – and follow through on them
  • Strong communication skills will be a great asset

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment is based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations.
