Products and Services

Based on a unique facilities and specialized knowledge on a variety of nuclear technologies, DTU Nutech offers products and services to other institutes and centers at DTU, as well as other universities, research institutes, hospitals, public authorities and private companies. The products and services are grouped in six areas:


Mechanical Workshop & Construction
The main objective of the Workshop is to assist researchers from DTU. The Workshop has modern and reliable machines, including 2D/3D CNC machines, welding equipment , and a high precision 3D coordinate measurement instrument.

  Radiation Instruments
Instruments for radiation dosimetry, luminescence dating and environmental measurements are offered based on many years of research and development in luminescence dosimetry. Radiation instruments include the Risø TL/OSL Reader and the low-level beta multi-counter system.

  Industrial Dosimetry
Industrial dosimetry is carried out at the Risø High Dose Reference Laboratory where services are offered to the radiation processing industry in Denmark and abroad, in particular the medical device industry using radiation for sterilization.

Radiopharmaceuticals are produced at the Hevesy Laboratory, which is a fully qualified/validated manufacturing site with a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliant organization.

  Radioactive isotopes and tracers
A variety of radioactive isotopes for medical and technical purposes are offered based on irradiation either by protons on DTU Nutech's own cyclotrons or by neutrons at different reactors in Europe and in USA.

  Radiochemical analysis
DTU Nutech issues certificates on radioactivity in environmental samples and food based on radiometric analyses. A wide variety of analyses are offered, including chemical separation, radiation measurements and mass spectroscopy.
